To get an idea what the grandkids might want for Christmas, we decided to take them to Toy’s r Us. As you can imagine, they wanted everything they saw. So, Nana took T.K. around and told her to only pick out the things she wanted the most and Nana (Arlene) would write those things on a pad, to pick from. As they walked around the store T.K. (Tennyson) would say, “I want this!”, her Mom and Nana would ask if she was sure. “I’m sure.” she would say, “Then I’m writing it down.” Nana would reply. This when on throughout the store. Finally T.K. would say,”Did you write it down?” “I did.” Nana would say. Moreland, the almost three year old, just walked around and looked.
The next day, Moreland called Nana on the phone. “Nana, I know what I want for Christmas!” “You do?”Nana asked. “I do, I want a Wonder Pet Flying Boat.” “Okay, I put that on my pad.” said Nana. “Did you write it down?” questioned Moreland. “I did.” said Nana, “Bye.” and off when Moreland. She was content to know, that if Nana wrote it down, she was going to get it for Christmas.
It would be great if we Christians had so much faith in what God has written down for us, The Bible. It seems that we hardly have time to read it and then have trouble believing the words He has given us. Many promises that he will never leave us, yet we feel all alone. Promises that the will supply all our needs, yet we seem unsatisfied.
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
He wrote it down.
