Arlene’s Testimony

When I was growing up I did not go to church, I used the excuse I was going to church when I was like 11 or 12. I did not go I would just hang out with some friends. When David & I got married we lived in Homestead Florida. We meet a couple that was going to a Church of Christ, we went with them some. One night I was really under conviction ready to be saved, David call them & that told us to meet them at the church. We went & he baptized me & told me I was going to heaven. I lived the next several years thinking I was going to Heaven.
When we got out of the Army we started going to church at Kenwood Baptist. We was having a revival, Darrel Dunn was preaching. He talked about that if you had not ask Jesus to come into your heart, they would not go to heaven. He said you had to ask Jesus to come in your heart, confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus & believe in your heart. I knew that night that I had not done that, all I did was go in the water lost & came out of the water lost. My sister in law, Betty Ashe Smith, showed me in the bible what I needed to do. I ask Jesus to come in my heart & save me. I knew that night that I was saved & on my way to Heaven.
I know that God has been with me from that day till now. There have been times that I have let Him down but He has never let me down. I have had times in my life that I don’t know what I would have done or how I would have made it if it had not been for HIM. He has walked with me and sometimes carried me.
I am so thankful God saved me & my family. He has blessed me and my family in so many ways.
