I Love The Lord Because
I love the Lord because He’s my Fortress of strength,
My Present Help & Shelter when days are at length;
He loadeth me with benefits everyday anew,
There’s nothing His mercy can’t carry me through.
I love the Lord because He’s my Redeemer & Shield,
The Hiding Place of my heart who says “Peace, be still;”
His word is a Lamp to my feet, Light to the path I trod,
What an honor to be led by the hand of God!
I love the Lord because He hears my voice when I pray,
From the miry clay, set my feet upon a Rock to stay;
What time I am afraid, I’ll seek the Lord’s face,
Knowing at all times, He gives sweet loving grace!
I love the Lord for being the Pavilion where I may hide,
He enlarges the steps of my path, so my feet won’t slide;
Thank God, He keeps me in the shadow of His wings,
Just knowing His love gives me great reason to sing!
