The Lord Himself
The Lord Himself came from Heaven above,
God’s only Son, the perfect gift of love;
He was born in a manger amid mortal men,
The Redeemer with blood to wash away sin!
The Lord Himself dwelt among mortal man,
As part of God’s perfect salvation plan;
Then He learned emotions man did feel,
The love He felt then is still very real!
The Lord Himself died on Calvary’s cross,
He shed His blood, for none to be lost;
He paid for our sin as part of God’s grace,
Then rose again after only three days!
The Lord Himself will descend with a shout,
He’ll split the clouds, in glory, stepping out;
All things are ready, waiting in their place,
His children long to see His glorious face!
