I Don’t Have Enough Time

By Thomas Kinkade—Painter of Light

I often hear people lamenting that their schedule is just too full for them to do the things they want to do in life. . . .They just don’t have enough “free time” to spend as they choose. The truth is that by definition all our time is “free time”, ours to spend or invest as we choose. . . .We are responsible only to ourselves and to our Creator for what we do with this marvelous gift.

A certain portion of our time and energy will of necessity be spent in the process of nurturing relationships, doing our jobs, caring for our bodies, feeding our souls, and doing what we believe we are called to do. Yet, every one of us does “have time” —exactly twenty-four hours of it in every day.

The days of our lives don’t belong to any other person—no one can decide how you spend your time but you. . . Each minute of every day is yours. You can choose to spend them responsibly and purposefully on activities that have meaning for you, or you can spend them on a multitude of extraneous involvements that complicate you life and steal your feeedom.

I find it absolutely amazing how easily human beings surrender their God-given hours and days to the pursuit of activities that they really don’t care about and that don’t come close to bringing them peace and serenity or satisfaction.

Here is a simple revelation that is bringing me a lot of freedom: “There is enough time”. I am discovering that I have exactly the right number of hours and minutes and seconds to accomplish and do everything that I need to do in my lifetime. —Claire Cloninger
