Judging

Recently I have seen several post and comments about judging others. One of the most common responses to the posts were, judge not lest ye also be judged. I think many people do not understand what the verse is saying or do not care to know. Most think it means that if someone makes a true statement about a subject and if they do not agree, then you are judging. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
If you saw a small child in the middle of the street, you would say that is dangerous. No one would disagree. Both agree on a clear understanding of a known truth.
If you say it is wrong to be gay, get drunk, adultery or have an abortion. Then you would have many people to say that you are judgmental or self-righteous. The problem is two fold, one is that they do not have a clear understand of Scripture or that they have a secular world view.
I someone does not believe that the Bible is the Word of God, then you will have a very hard time trying to convince them of any thing. If that person has a secular worldview the task is about the same. You must understand that the lost world and the worldly Christian are very much alike, they are about self centered and sensual.
Change can only come when we are fully trusting in God’s Word for truth.
So, if I say it is wrong for someone to get drunk because the Bible says,” Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” Or “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;” Then if the person disagrees, it is between them and God. I told them a truth and they refused to believe. “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:”
“I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.’
So, you can see telling the truth is not judging. But we must be careful not to be come self-righteous lest we fall.
Live for Jesus like it was the last day of your life, it could be.
