Closer than a brother, God is to us,
The moment we give Him our faith & trust;
He comes into a saved, forgiven heart;
He’s there to stay, His love won’t depart!
Closer than a brother, is God Himself,
He gave His own Son to keep us from Hell;
Jesus shed His blood to pay for our sin,
He’s the open Door, inviting all to Come in!
Closer than a brother as our faithful Friend,
He’s the One to lean on & truly depend;
He listens to every word that we pray,
Meeting our needs with sufficient grace!
Closer than a brother, His Spirit inside,
Speaks to us each day as He leads our life;
Even when life is troubled & smothered,
Within us, He is closer than a brother!
