REPOST

I was able to visit the 9-11 Memorial, while in New York. My emotions when from sad to mad, from unbelief to thankfulness.

I asked myself the questions  “How small is your god if you have to kill to please him?” My answer was “very small.” If a person beliefs require them to kill innocent men and women boys and girls, then their religion is in vain.

“How big is your God if you can forgive them?” My answer.”Very Big.”

God’s grace is far greater than mine  and His forgiveness far out reaches mine.

Sunday Dinner
A young couple invited their pastor for Sunday dinner. While they were in the kitchen preparing the meal, the minister asked their son what they were having.
“Goat,” the little boy replied.
“Goat?” replied the Pastor, “Are you sure about that?”
“Yes,” said the youngster. “I heard Dad say to Mom, ‘We might as well have the old goat for dinner today as any other day.”

Just like God
My grandson was visiting one day when he asked, “Grandma, do you know how you and God are alike?”
I mentally polished my halo while I asked, “No, how are we alike?”
“You’re both old,” he replied.

The music director
Church feuds are not uncommon, especially among cliques in the congregation. But when the music director and the pastor get into it, stand back!

One week the pastor preached on commitment and how we should dedicate ourselves to service.
The choir selected “We Shall Not Be Moved” as the final hymn.

The Next week the pastor railed about the evils of alcohol and challenged the members to throw all their booze in the river. Hymn after the sermon, “Shall We Gather at the River…”

Next week the pastor preached on giving and how we should gladly give to the work of the Lord.
The choir selected “Jesus Paid It All” as the final hymn.

Next week, the pastor preached on gossiping and how we should watch our tongues.
The choir selected “I Love To Tell The Story” as the final hymn.

Next week the pastor, being disgusted over the situation, told the congregation that he was considering resignation.
The choir selected “Why Not Tonight ” as the final hymn.

Then the pastor resigned the next week and told the congregation that Jesus had led him there and Jesus was now leading him away.
The choir selected “What A Friend We Have In Jesus ” as the final hymn.
